The Gap Between
Forms in constant tension, which inhabit dreamlike atmospheres where ambiguous and contradictory situations come about, recently emerged in my work. In the series The Gap Between, these pictorial anomalies generate an intriguing sense of awkwardness: they occur between humor and solemnity, the ideal and the real, deconstruction and reconstruction, desire and repudiation, clumsiness and proficiency. I situate myself between these apparent opposites and from there I build a highly idiosyncratic visual language, through which I question whether what we see is actually what we think we see.
